Description
This building is a cottage and adjoining outbuilding, formerly agricultural structures that may have served as a granary and barn. Likely built in the 18th century, it was converted into a cottage and garage around 1960 and modernized around 1982. The structure features rendered cob on rubble footings, brick stacks, and a thatched roof. It is two storeys tall and faces west. The cottage has two rooms on the right, with a store open to the roof on the left, both under a continuous roof. There is an axial stack in the party wall between the cottage and the store, along with a rear lateral stack in the right-end room. The roof is hipped to the right and half-hipped to the left. The front of the cottage has three windows with wooden casements from around 1960. The barn entrance porch has been blocked with a casement window from around 1982, and there is an unglazed mullion window to the right of the porch under a timber lintel. C18 external granite steps in the center lead to a door that has been blocked by a 20th-century window. This building is included for its group value.
