Description

The bridge across the River Ashburn, located at SX 7509 6930, is likely from the 18th century and was designed to carry what is now the A384, which has since been diverted to the south. It is constructed from stone rubble and features a single segmental arch with well-cut voussoirs. The stone rubble parapets have copings made of large squared blocks. The upstream parapet curves outward at both ends, while the downstream parapet curves sharply outward only at the western end. The carriageway of the bridge, which is now grassed over, is approximately 3 meters wide. The bridge is adjacent to the garden of Leat House, which is not listed.
