Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a dwelling, dating from the 17th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of squared and dressed coursed limestone, topped with stone slate roofs and coped gables. The building has a complex layout, featuring an original farmhouse with a large 19th-century addition facing the street, resulting in a Z-plan shape.

The structure is generally 2½ storeys tall, plus a stone basement. The front elevation has three windows, including one and two-light windows in small and large gables, and three two-light windows on the first floor. The ground floor features three and four-light windows with transoms, including a four-light window with a king mullion. These stone mullioned casements are likely from the 19th century and have stopped drips.

Centrally located is an arched doorway with a 20th-century plank door and a scrolled keystone, flanked by a 17th-century portico supported by Doric columns on plinths, with flat architraves that break forward over the columns; some of this work is also from the 19th century.

On the left return wing, there is a two-light window in the gable and two two-light windows at the ground floor, all with stopped drips. The older wing features a steeply hipped 19th-century bay with a 1:3:1 light arrangement, which is two storeys high and has a transom only at the ground floor.

At the rear, there is a deep projecting external stack, with three and two-light hollow moulded mullioned casements under stopped drips. Below a three-light window, there is a wide plank door with a transom light, also under a stopped drip, featuring a keystone with a carved head. The rear side is now covered with concrete tiles. The interior has not been seen.
