Description
Greet Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse built of good squared limestone that is nearly ashlar in quality, with concrete tile roofs. The building has an L-shaped plan featuring a deep projecting porch at the internal angle. The wing facing the road has a hipped roof, while the range parallel to the road has a mansard roof with coped gables. There is one gable stack primarily made of brick above the ridge, and a second stack built on a large rectangular stone base, transitioning to bricks and stone at the eaves of the hipped end. The farmhouse is two stories high, with a basement and attic, and various windows in a Victorian Gothic style. On the return face to the left, there are two three-light casements with ovolo moulding, which may date back to the 17th century. The right end of the mansard block features a hexagonal bay with pointed lights that include a mullion and transom. The porch has a plank door set in a pointed arch, approached by seven stone steps, with a two-light transom window above and diagonally placed pointed quatrefoils. Although it resembles a Victorian Gothic villa, the farmhouse may incorporate some earlier elements. The interior has not been seen.
