Description
Old Pound Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been altered in the 19th century, with minor changes made in the late 20th century. It features brick-nogged timber framing, rendered walls, English-bond brickwork, and a tiled roof. The building has a 'T' plan with a main wing and a cross wing, consisting of two bays and two and a half storeys.
The front of the farmhouse has late 20th-century windows in the main wing. The main post is located at the left end, with the ground floor to the right rendered and featuring a small window and a three-light casement. There is a lean-to in the angle with a single-pane window. The cross wing projects to the right and has a brick front, which includes a single-storey gabled porch on the left with an open end and a half-glazed door. To the right of the porch, there is a three-light casement with a cambered rubbed brick arch.
On the first floor, the main wing displays two-panel high timber-framing with slight braces on the end posts to the wallplate, and two two-light casements. The gable of the cross wing has a three-light casement similar to the ground floor, and above it, there is a louvred opening with a cambered brick arch. An external chimney is located on the right return, featuring tiled offsets, while the right return is timber-framed.
