Description
This is an upright chest tomb located approximately 10 meters north of the northeast corner of the Abbey porch in Tewkesbury. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat ledger with inset corners and moulded edges. On the north side, there is a bold cartouche panel, while the south side has a panel with leaf supporters. The short ends of the tomb display bold scrolls, with the eastern end featuring a skull and bones. It has a moulded base on a platform. This design is vigorous and characteristic of the earlier 18th century, although it is badly worn and no inscriptions are legible.
