Description
Gurney's is a former farmhouse, likely built in the early 18th century. It features brick-nogged timber framing with a brick gable and a tiled roof. The building is arranged with two rooms and has one and a half storeys. The front facade displays timber framing that alternates between two and three panels high, with main floor beams tenoned through the studs. There is a boarded door located to the right of the center, topped by a peaked hood with a corrugated iron roof, supported by a timber post on the right, while the post on the left is missing. To the right of the door is a two-light casement window, and to the left is a six-pane window. The left end of the building shows a brick end wall. A two-light casement window is present in the lean-to dormer. The left return of the brick gable features a large external chimney base, which is offset from the chimney above. Additionally, there is a projecting brick wing on the left side of the front, which is a single-storey addition. At some point, the exterior was faced with wet-dash render, although much of it has since fallen off.
