Description
Alcock's Farm is a detached farmhouse that dates from the 16th to 17th century, with later alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features close-studded and square timber framing with rendered and unpainted brick infill, topped by a red tile roof and brick stacks. It has two storeys and an attic, with a T-shaped plan that includes a lean-to and extension at the rear from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The principal gable is located on the right side and has been partly refaced in brick, projecting slightly from the facade. The five-bay, three-windowed facade is illuminated by two and three-light metal casements with glazing bars. To the left of the projecting gable, there is a 20th-century timber-framed lean-to porch, which contains a part-glazed 19th-century front door. Additionally, there is an early plank door that leads down steps to a cellar on the lower left side. The left gable-end is jettied and close-studded, featuring blocked ground floor and garret windows. The right gable-end has a projecting stack, while a lateral stack is located at the rear left. The interior has not been inspected.
