Description

A row of three houses located on North Street in Winchcombe, dating from the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of limestone ashlar with a plain first-floor string course and a Welsh slate roof. They have two storeys, a basement and an attic, and feature gabled dormers. The dormer window to number 44 has a two-light casement. The upper floor windows are sashes with glazing bars, while the ground floor sashes are wider, with bars and flanking pilasters incorporating an impost block and base, and stone sills. There are three good, moulded, three-panel doors, each with a shallow transome light, approached by four, five and five steps respectively. Number 42 has a later aluminium dormer window. The row represents a good example of modest residential dwellings of its period, largely unchanged since original construction.
