Description

This is a chest tomb located about 8 meters south-south-east of the south-east nave window in the churchyard of the Church of St. Kenelm. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top, a moulded plinth, and capping on a moulded base. It has quarter baluster corners and a narrow fielded panel on the short ends. The long sides are adorned with simple moulded inscription panels that have flanking carved foliage strips, although the inscriptions are indecipherable. The capping is held together by two iron staples. At the time of the survey in November 1984, the base and capping were noted to be breaking up.
