Description
This is a group of four chest tombs located immediately north of the northeast corner of the nave in the churchyard of St. Kenelm. The tombs commemorate Edmund Penly, who died in 1806; Daniel Fry, who died in 1807; Wellington Penly, whose date of death is not specified; and Walker, who died in 1780. They are made of limestone and feature moulded plinths and flat tops. The two tombs to the south have moulded capping, while the two to the north have plain capping. The two tombs on the west side have tooled corners and plain sides. The tomb of Fry, located to the southeast, has large plain ovals on all sides, while Edmund Penly's tomb to the northeast has oval panels with a carved surround on the south side and a swag on the north side, along with plain ends.
