Description
Tudor Cottage is a late 17th-century building, with additions from the mid-18th century and early 19th century. It was originally a row of four houses, now combined into two. The exterior is constructed of random and coursed rubble limestone, all painted, with ashlar and brick chimneys. The roofs are covered in stone slate, concrete tile, and Welsh slate.
The building appears as an accumulation of sections, beginning with a short 17th-century range and a cross wing with a projecting gable on the right. A 20th-century glazed door is set into the wing. The upper floor of the cross wing has a 3-light timber casement with a pointed-head design, and a 2-light chamfered mullioned attic casement. The range to the left has a 2-light chamfered mullioned upper floor casement with a hoodmould, and two ground floor timber casements. A ridge-mounted chimney with a chamfered cap marks the original gable end to the south. Two additional sections, each the width of a single window, have been added to the main range, along with a 20th-century glazed porch. Two gabled roof dormers are present, one equipped with a lead-latticed casement. A 20th-century conservatory has been added to the south end. The gable end of a parallel rear range is recessed to the left and is rendered, with a timber casement. The south end of this range includes a 3-light ground floor casement with a hoodmould, and a timber casement above with a timber lintel. The interior has not been inspected.
