Description

The John Marbett chest tomb, located approximately 6 meters north of the end bay of the nave of the Church of St Cyr, is a chest tomb dating from the late 19th century. It is made of sandstone and features a hipped capping over a stepped capping mould and a stepped plinth, with panelled sides. The tomb is inscribed with the name "JOHN MARBETT, 1879." It stands within a former railed enclosure that includes chest tombs for Mary Browning, Thomas Marbett, and John Marbett, and it is included in the listing primarily for its role in completing this group of tombs.
