Description
Ferndale is a mid 19th-century house that is attached to Lower Court Cottage and is partly built into that structure. It features coursed rubble limestone and red brick, with brick chimneys and an artificial stone slate roof. The building is two stories high with an attic. The front has three casement windows with stone lintels and an additional casement window on the ground floor to the right. There are two gabled roof dormers mounted on the eaves. The east side is constructed of brick and follows the ridge line of Lower Court Cottage, featuring a single-window segmental arched casement. The rear, which faces Selsley Road, has a large blank wall, a central upper floor casement, and a tall chimney mounted on the eaves. The interior has not been inspected. Ferndale is included for its group value with the adjacent Lower Court Cottage.
