Description

There are two sets of gates and posts located in the churchyard wall of the Church of St. Mary, dating from around 1864. Made of cast and wrought iron, the gateway to the west of the church features two posts, each with a lancet panel on both sides, gablets, and a ball finial. It includes central carriage gates and flanking kissing gates, all adorned with iron railings that have decorative spear tops. The gateway to the east of the church is similar but has the main carriage gate that opens within the kissing gate enclosure, featuring an unusual movable end piece that allows the main gate to open fully. These gates and posts are contemporary with the Church of St. Mary.
