Description

The Firs, also known as The Probation Office, is a late 18th-century building located on Caincross Road. It features an ashlar front and a pitched slate roof, with two storeys and attics. The building has a plain string course, a moulded eaves cornice, and a blocking course. There are four ranges of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, along with one canted bay window on the ground floor. The entrance includes a door with an oblong fanlight, and there are two modern attic dormers. The Firs is part of a group that includes Nos 106 to 114 (even) and Nos 126 to 130 (even).
