Description

These are two mid-18th century former stables, with a cottage attached at the west end. The original stables are constructed of brick, with a parapet and a pitched stone roof. They have a ground floor with round-arched windows featuring keystones, and the first floor has blocked lunettes. A pediment with an oculus sits centrally. The stable doors are arched with a three-centred design. Two original rainwater heads are still present. The attached cottage appears to be of brick with a pitched tile roof. It has two storeys and two ranges of segment-headed casement windows. An early 19th century addition extends to the east, built of hammerdressed rubble with a pitched slate roof. This addition is two storeys and has attics, featuring three ranges of segment-headed windows with glazing bars, and a single attic weaving window. A further range of loading doors and a winch hoist are located at the east end. The cottages and surrounding buildings, including Lodgemoor Mills Bridge and Fromehall Mills, form a group.
