Description

The sundial located in the court at Marling School dates back to 1691, although it stands on a later plinth that was added in 1889. It is made of limestone and features a polygonal shape with bronze gnomons set on a gadrooned baluster. The moulded square plinth displays a monogram on one side and the date 1691 on the other, along with the inscription: "TAK TENT O' TIME ERE TIME BE TINT." The stepped base of the sundial has an uncertain provenance.
