Description

The Old Box Inn is a detached house, originally a row of three houses, dating to the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with ashlar and artificial stone rebuilt chimneys, and has a stone slate roof. The house is two storeys high. The arrangement of windows is similar to that which would have been found in each original house. The ground floor features doorways with a three-light mullioned casement, while the upper floor has two two-light casements, all with three-centred arched heads. One doorway has been blocked and replaced with a two-light casement matching the upper floor windows. Three chimneys are positioned along the ridge of the roof. An attached garage at the north end is of no particular architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected.
