Description

The south-east wing of Beaudesert Park School is a large, two-and-a-half storey house built between 1870 and 1875 by Ewan Christian for the widow of local businessman J G Frith. Designed in a "black and white" Elizabethan style, it features a timber frame with stone dressings and plaster panels, along with slate and tile roofs. The house is adorned with intricately designed brick chimneys. Inside, there are numerous original features, including fireplaces, panelled and painted ceilings, and painted glass. The initials J G F appear frequently throughout the building. The library ceiling is said to have been painted by Gambier Parry, and the staircase includes splat balusters. There are also lesser extensions to the north-west.
