Description

Stonewell is a mid to late 18th century building that has been significantly altered and extended. It is constructed of rubble with a Cotswold stone roof and features four stone chimneys. Originally, it comprised three cottages and is two storeys high. The southern section is the oldest part, featuring three windows; the outer ones are two-light with mullions and have rebated chamfers to their surrounds, along with labels. This section also includes a gabled central porch. The central section was altered in the mid 19th century and 20th century, featuring an attic gable, a segment-headed window on the first floor, a lean-to porch, and a lean-to on the left side, which has a single-light window with a rebated chamfer surround and a timber lintel. Inside, there is a newel staircase adjacent to the fireplace. The northern section, known as Stonewell, dates from the 19th century and has recently been altered with the addition of a two-storey gable. At the rear, there are modern hipped dormer windows alongside an original mullion window with a rebated surround and label.
