Description

Trullwell is a detached house built in the early to mid-18th century, which was enlarged and re-fronted around 1800. The front is finished in smooth incised stucco, while the rear features random rubble limestone. The house has ashlar and rendered chimneys and a stone slate roof. It is two stories high with an attic and has lower two-story ranges at the back.

The front of the house is distinguished by three giant Tuscan pilasters, creating a sense of duality. It has a two-window arrangement, with later 19th-century four-pane sash windows on the ground floor and 16-pane sash windows above, all featuring plain architraves, cornices, and scalloped sun blind valencing. There is a moulded cornice with an ashlar blocking course. The lower part to the right has a single window arrangement similar to the main section. Gable end chimneys are present.

On the west side, there is a large staircase addition that includes a front doorway with a 19th-century panelled door and a lean-to porch, with glazed sections above and on both sides of the staircase. This staircase used to lead to a ballroom wing at the rear, which has since been demolished. The rear of the house features two lower gables from the earlier 18th-century structure and mixed casement windows. There is an off-centre gabled projection at the back of the main block. The interior has not been inspected.
