Description

The gateway and walls to Box House date from the early 19th century and are constructed of ashlar limestone with timber gates. The structure features a curved screen wall on either side of the gateway, each with a central pedestrian doorway. There are plain square gate piers topped with moulded caps and domical coping, as well as similar terminal piers on the flanking walls that have domical caps only. The wall has plain coping, and the doorways have segmental arched openings with six-panel beaded doors. The gates are made of openwork timber and have a swept top.
