Description
Allandale Cottage is a house located at the end of a row on Vicarage Street in Painswick. It has some fabric from the 17th century but was restructured in the 19th century and modified and extended in the 20th century. The building is made of squared and coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and has a concrete tile roof.
The cottage features a gabled, two-storey design with two windows on the front, which include two-light recessed chamfer mullion and transom casements. The ground floor windows have been replaced with artificial stone in the 20th century. Each floor has a continuous drip course that stops at the outer ends of the paired windows. The return wall has one small light at each level. The entrance door is located in a parallel gabled wing at the back, which is not considered to be of special interest. The interior has not been inspected, but a former listing mentions that the windows retain their leading.
