Description
Little Mondays is a detached house located on Vicarage Street in Painswick. It dates back to the 17th century and has undergone later modifications. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features stone slate or concrete tile roofs. It has two parallel ranges of unequal lengths that are connected by a short central wing, creating an uneven U-shaped plan.
The front facing the street has no windows. The left return side has one storey and an attic, featuring a plank door within a chamfered surround and a small single light under a 2-light recessed chamfer mullion casement in a coped half-gable, which is mirrored on the opposite slope. There is a lateral eaves stack on the left side.
The left gable of the garden front has an oculus above a 2-light window, while the right gable features an oculus above a 2-light window and a former 3-light window that is now without mullions. All these windows have recessed chamfer detailing with stopped hoods. Inside, the house retains a stone spiral staircase, a vaulted cellar, a bressumer fire, and one well-crafted panelled door.
