Description

The John Marbett chest tomb, located approximately 5 meters north of the end bay of the nave of the Church of St Cyr, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of limestone and features moulded capping and a plinth, quarter balusters, a palmette frieze, oval inscription panels with corner rosettes, and decorative end panels. The tomb commemorates John Marbett, who died in 1795. It stands within a former railed enclosure that also contains the chest tombs of Mary Browning, Thomas Marbett, and John Marbett II.
