Description

The Joseph Hicks chest tomb, located approximately 4 meters north of the north porch entrance to the Church of St Cyr, dates from 1728 and is made of limestone. It is designed in the Baroque style, featuring cyma capping and a cavetto base, all set on a raised plinth. The tomb includes double scrolled end panels that display memento mori and putti heads, with enriched cartouches on the sides flanked by grieving putti. This memorial is dedicated to Joseph Hicks from 1728 and should not be confused with the nearby memorial to another Joseph Hicks from 1739.
