Description

Tankard Spring House is a detached house dating to around 1830, situated on the north side of High Street, Chalford. The house is built of roughly coursed rubble limestone, with random rubble to the sides and rear. The chimneys have been rebuilt in ashlar and yellow brick, and the roof is covered with concrete tiles. It is three storeys high. The front elevation has a three-window arrangement. The ground and middle floors have 12-pane sashes, while the upper floor has 6-pane sashes, all set within plain openings with stone lintels. A central doorway features a six-panel door and a segmental fanlight. Moulded stone eaves run along the top of the building, and gable end chimneys are present. Single-storey outbuildings are attached to either end of the main house. The interior has not been inspected.
