14/32 Baptist Chapel

Baptist chapel. 1873 by J. Tait of Leicester. Rock-faced coursed rubble limestone with ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof. Double height rectangular chapel; 2-storey ancillary block at north end. Romanesque style. South front: gable end with central break- forward flanked by shallow buttresses with cross gable tops taken above moulded parapet. Three large round arched windows with jamb shafts and waterleaf capitals. Central round arched doorway below with jamb shafts, hood mould, plank doors and bold trefoil head. Central cusped circular window in gable. Outer narrow round arched windows. Sides: 5 round arched recesses all with circular window at head. Four bays have 2-light casement below, pane above window being divided. Interior not inspected.
