Description

This is a detached house dating from the mid-17th century, situated on the south side of High Street, Chalford. The house is constructed from random rubble limestone with an artificial stone slate roof. It is a two-storey building with an attic and cellar. Two-storey additions to the east and west sides, dating from the 20th century, are not considered to be of particular architectural interest. The south gable end features a single window on each level, all with recessed chamfered or plain chamfered mullions, with most having hoodmoulds. The ground floor windows are 3-light, the cellar windows are 2-light, and those on the upper floor and in the attic are similarly styled. The sides of the house are largely hidden by 20th-century additions. The rear gable is built against a raised road, with a single-storey addition situated between. The interior of the house has not been inspected. The property is included on the list for its group value within the surrounding area.
