Description
Sandpits House is a mid-18th century dwelling attached to Beechwood House. It is a long, narrow building with a concrete tile roof. The exterior is rendered and features moulded cappings to stacks at the gables and off-centre to the right, possibly indicating the original position of a right gable. A stone cornice mould runs along the parapet. A return wing extends to the right, incorporating some pointed stonework.
The house has two storeys and five windows. The windows are sash windows without bars, set within broad surrounds that protrude from the wall face. The second and fifth windows on the first floor are blocked. A three-panel door, with the top two panels glazed, is located in the second bay, sheltered by a flat timber hood supported on brackets. This door was likely originally central to the house.
Inside, the ground floor windows retain their original shutters.
