Description

Stocks Cottage is a detached house located next to the churchyard, dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed limestone with a stone slate roof and small stone gable stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring two windows with 3-light chamfered mullion casements set in stopped hoods. The central doorway has been blocked, and there is a 20th-century door in a porch extension to the left. The cottage also has two small gabled dormers. The gable facing the churchyard includes a 2-light hollow chamfer mullion casement and a blocked doorway. At the back, there are two 2-light 19th-century glazing bar casements on the first floor and two dormers. Stocks Cottage is oriented at right angles to the churchyard and faces St Mary's Street.
