Description

Rosemary Cottage is a 17th-century house located in a short row on the south east side of St Mary's Street, Painswick. It appears to have been built alongside Wycke Cottage, although the latter may be a rebuild or extension. The exterior is limestone ashlar with a stone slate roof. The ground floor features a 2-light casement window with chamfered mullions, likely replacing a former doorway, alongside a 2-light recessed chamfer mullion casement, and a part-glazed door, all beneath a continuous string course which is stopped at the right end. Above, the first floor has two 12-pane sash windows set in exposed boxes and sheltered by stopped hoods. A 2-light casement dormer with leading is positioned above, and a ridge stack is located on the left side of the roof.
