Description

These are two main and one smaller gate piers forming the entrance to the churchyard of St Mary’s Church in Painswick. They date from the 19th century and are constructed of limestone ashlar. The two larger piers are octagonal, set on plinths, with plain shafts leading to a coved support and a moulded cap finished in a flat pyramid. The smaller pier is similar in style. No gates or railings are present. The piers are identical to a pair found off New Street.
