Description
Whitehouse Farmhouse is a dwelling that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century. It features rendered stonework, with a small upper section of the walls on both main facades rendered with lath, and a concrete tile roof. The building has an L-plan layout, with a wing at the back left, gable stacks, and one off-centre stack to the left of the door at the former cross passage. It is two storeys high with an attic and has a four-windowed front, featuring three-light casements on the ground floor and two-light casements on the first floor, along with three small shuttered openings just below the eaves. The rear has similar window arrangements, but includes a two-light window with a mullion on the first floor.
Inside, there is a seven-bay upper crock roof, heavy chamfered beams, a major fire opening, and a bacon-curing shaft located to the left of the entrance. In the attic, there is a thin lath and plaster wall with shuttered openings set to the outer face of the main wall.
