Description
The Manor Hotel, originally a dwelling, was built in 1837 and is now a hotel. It features ashlar limestone and a stone slate roof, showcasing a complex yet compact 'Cotswold Tudor' architectural style. The building includes multiple stacks with separated octagonal shafts and a two-storey entrance porch with corner buttresses. An octagonal two-storey bay was added to the south wing shortly after the main structure was completed, and there is a modern extension to the north-west. The windows have hollow chamfered mullions, some with transoms, and many contain sash windows with bars. The entrance features a multi-panelled 19th-century door set in a Tudor arched opening.
Inside, there are rich contemporary fireplaces, ceilings, panelling, and a staircase immediately to the right of the entrance. The property is not only of design value but also holds prominence and significance in views from the nearby M5 motorway to the west.
