Description
The Star Inn is an inn dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of rough rendered or painted rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has an L-shaped layout with a parallel range that includes a central gutter, facing down the street and creating a small square. The roof is hipped, and there is a projection on the left that continues the line of Market Street. The inn is two storeys high and has four windows on the main facade, plus one window on the return to the right. The windows are sashes with small panes, with the bottom panes being plain glass. There are also three large plate glass openings with two-light units above the transom, all of which were added in the late 19th century. To the right, there is a two-light sash window and a projecting bay. The entrance features a modern glazed door set in a broad stone surround with a hood. At the rear, the building has 18th-century sashes with glazing bars.
