Description

No. 4, located on The Chipping in Wotton-under-Edge, is a dwelling dating from the mid-18th century. It features rendering above a painted stone plinth and has a front slope covered with Welsh slate, while the return roofing is made of stone slate. The building is a free-standing L-shaped block topped with a hipped roof and has a moulded wooden eaves cornice. Originally, it was two separate properties.

The structure has two storeys and is designed with three plus two windows, which are sashes with glazing bars and square panes set in wide surrounds. At the right end, there are two sashes with narrow side-lights. The left side features original sashes, while the others have been replaced. There are also two six-panel doors set in deep reveals, with one door having a fanlight with radial bars.
