Description

This is an early 18th-century dwelling located on The Chipping in Wotton-under-Edge. It is a broad-fronted building, parallel to the range, and forms the end of a terrace of three. The building is rendered, with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and three window bays; the windows are sash windows with glazing bars in wide surrounds which extend to the wall face. The central entrance has a six-panelled door within a broad frame, topped by a baroque broken pediment supported by brackets, with a central ball finial. Timber detailing on the pediment matches that of numbers 8 and 9. The building was formerly divided into two dwellings, numbers 10 and 11. Numbers 8, 9, and 10 combine to create a group that is vital to the visual enclosure of The Chipping.
