Description

No. 11, The Chipping is a small house dating from the mid-19th century, situated at the end of a short row. The exterior is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble, painted to the gable, with rendered walls at the rear and a hipped end. It features a stone slate roof with concrete ridge tiles and a brick gable stack. The house is two storeys and an attic, with a single window. It has 2-light wooden casements under wooden lintels, and a swept roof dormer. A 20th-century gabled porch with a pair of doors is located to the left. There is a small, single-storey extension to the left, and one to the right, which connects with No. 10. These extensions are rendered and have concrete tile roofs. The rear includes 20th-century casements, and a one-pane fixed casement on the left return. The building is notable primarily for its group value.
