Description
Chipping Manor is a large detached dwelling, now used as offices and salerooms, dating from the late 18th century. The building features rendered walls and an ashlared concrete tile roof. It has a deep double unit, each with a hipped roof, and a third unit set back to the right. The structure is two storeys high with five windows, which are sashes set in moulded architraves and fitted with glazing bars. The central door is located under an arch and is flanked by six-panel side lights that are glazed, topped with a large radial bar fanlight. This central unit has a moulded parapet with fine fluting and flat corner pilasters to the right. There is also a three-storey, three-windowed unit with sashes and bars. At the rear, the two-storey unit has five windows, with sashes and bars; the first floor features a central Venetian window, while the ground floor has two French doors. A new pilastered and pedimented central door has been added. Inside, there are contemporary window shutters throughout, one panelled room with an alcove on the ground floor to the right, and an early 19th-century staircase located in the back half of the building.
