Description
Chestnutpark Farmhouse, located on the south side of Charfield Road in Kingswood, is a farmhouse that was formerly part of the service wings of Boundary House. It dates from the mid-18th century to the early 19th century. The building is roughcast with a Cotswold stone slate roof, featuring concrete tiles at the rear and on the front wing. It has two large square brick lateral stacks and smaller brick end stacks. The structure consists of a double rear range and a later front range, with three storeys at the rear and two at the front. The fenestration is scattered, primarily consisting of 12-pane sash windows, including a Venetian window on the first floor at the north-west end, which has a Gibbs surround and a triple central keystone. The front door is set in a deep plain-panelled reveal and features four fielded panels and two decorative flush panels. The gatepiers are made of dressed stone with rusticated square piers, a moulded modillion cornice, double stepped bases with polygonal finials on stems, and there is a single wrought iron gate with spearhead rails.
