Description

These are two cottages located to the west of the Abbey Gatehouse and forming part of the abbey's original fabric. The core of the building dates to the early 16th century and was altered to create the cottages. The exterior is ashlar, with a hipped roof covered in Cotswold stone slates, and two large brick ridge stacks.

The cottages are arranged in a single range, with two storeys and one window each. They feature square hood moulds over the windows, and contain 19th and 20th-century windows. A central buttress is visible, with a diagonally set small square pier at first-floor level, ornamented with crockets. Number 5, on the right, retains a square hood mould over the ground-floor window and has an early 19th-century door to the right. Number 7 has a 20th-century door to the left. A stone string course runs above each window level.
