Description

Church Farm House is a detached corner house located in Frampton-on-Severn, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It features painted brick on a moulded brick plinth, with a hipped tile roof that corners to the right. The house has a double flued brick ridge stack on the front range and a similar stack on the gable end that turns into Whittles Lane. The main L-shaped range consists of two storeys and an attic, which drops to two storeys and then to one along Whittles Lane.

The elevation facing The Street has six windows, two of which are blocked. The four remaining windows are unevenly spaced, featuring 2-light wood mullions and transoms with lower casements, all adorned with brick voussoirs on each floor. There is a two-brick string course between the floors, which may have originally had a dentil eaves course that has since flattened into a wide band. The house also has two skylights.

On the right-hand elevation along Whittles Lane, there is one similar 3-light window on both floors, along with a plank door that has horizontal battens, situated under a hipped porch hood. The rear wing contains two similar 2-light windows on the first floor, which still have their original leading. Some of the front windows are fitted with internal iron bars.

Inside, the house boasts a fine panelled room in the corner on the ground floor, as well as a large timber bressumer fireplace in the entrance hall.
