Description
Park Gate Cottage is originally a group of cottages, now combined into a single house, dating to the early 17th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone with an artificial stone slate roof and brick stacks, some of which have diagonally set double flues. It is arranged in a U-shape, with the centre and right side being one storey and attic in height, and the left side being two storeys and attic high. The left side has two cross gables, while the right side has one gable forming the end of the centre section on its return. The front elevation features three gables, the left-hand gable being the highest and containing a single window bay. Windows are largely 3, 4, or 5-light leaded wood mullions, some of which have been renewed, and are set under wooden lintels. A tongue-and-groove plank door is set in a plain surround to the left of the centre of the building.
