Description
Blisbury Farmhouse is a farmhouse that features a datestone reading "WA 1772" on the east gable wall, although it likely dates from the earlier 18th century. The building is constructed of brick on a stone plinth that rises halfway up the wall on the south side. It has a double Roman tile roof and brick end stacks with oversailing courses, as well as a cornice made of three oversailing brick courses. The farmhouse is a long single range with a small brick barn adjoining on the right, creating an L-plan layout. It stands two storeys tall with an attic, which includes two flat-roofed dormers on the rear south side. The façade has five windows featuring wood mullions and transoms, with splayed brick voussoirs. There are four similar windows on the ground floor, along with a central doorcase that is accessed by two stone steps. The doorcase has a moulded wood surround, a tongue and groove plank door, and a plain semi-circular hood. The barn has a distinctive brick "dentil" cornice, created with two bricks placed together on their sides for each dentil.
