Description

The barn at Wick Court and the adjoining animal shelter to the east are large structures dating from the late 18th century, with the animal shelter likely built in the 19th century. The barn is constructed of brick and features a brick dentil cornice, with a concrete tile roof, except for the stone slates on the west pitch of the porch roof. A large gabled porch projects to the south, showcasing a depressed arch and double timber doors, flanked by two square pierced brick panels on each side, which contain slit vents. The north side is similar but has a flush entry. The gable ends have five tiers of slit vents. The barn consists of five bays, with the central bay being wider, supported by collar and tie beam trusses with queen post struts. The animal shelter is also made of brick and has a pantile roof, forming an L-shape that turns to the south. It features three open bays on each face, with wooden struts marking the bays.
