Description

Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with an early 18th-century extension. It features a rendered front wing and a brick rear wing with stone quoins, topped by a tiled roof. The building is L-shaped, two stories high with attics. The front has a rendered plinth and a central front door that is a six-panel design, with the center panels being the smallest. Above the door is a segmental arch with a widely projecting open segmental hood supported by shaped brackets. To the right of the door are two four-light wooden windows with iron opening casements and a cambered arch above. To the left is a late 19th-century four-pane sash window. There is a plain string course at the first floor level, with four-light mullioned windows featuring cambered arches above, each positioned over an opening on the ground floor. The house has chimneys on the ridge, one to the left of the front door and another on the right gable.

On the left return, the front gable is rendered and features a two-light window with a hoodmould on the ground floor, a three-light reserved-chamfer stone-mullioned window with a hoodmould on the first floor, and a two-light stone-mullioned window without a hoodmould in the attic, complemented by scalloped bargeboards. There is a rendered gabled porch located below the valley of the roof. Behind this, the gable of the brick rear wing has a two-light casement window under a stone lintel on the top floor. A single-storey wing on the left of the front beyond the porch is not of special interest.
