Description

Rodley Court is an 18th-century farmhouse with brick walls in an irregular Monk or Flemish bond, set on a stone plinth, and topped with a tiled roof. The building features a three-window front with a one-window extension and is two stories high. The front door frame is supported by stone blocks on each side and features a six-panel door, with the bottom panel flush and the top two glazed. A metal-covered tent roof shelters the porch, which is supported by shaped brackets and topped with an acorn finial.

On either side of the front door, there are two 2-light mullion and transom windows with iron opening casements, all set beneath flat rubbed brick arches. The first floor has three 2-light casements that are positioned at eaves level, also with iron opening lights. To the right, there are late 20th-century windows, one on each floor, in the extension. The left gable features a chimney, while a large chimney with two diamond-set flues projects from the original gable on the right, now partially enclosed by the extension.

The left return has a late 20th-century lean-to extension. A carved stone plaque is built into the gable just below the apex. At the rear, there is a high gable in the center with a keyed circular window. Inside, heavily chamfered beams divide the ceiling in the room on the right into six sections, with a long beam set towards the back of the room. There is a single-storey rear wing that is not of special interest.
