Description
Boundary Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with a rear wing that may have an earlier core. It is constructed of red brick, partly rendered and colourwashed, and features steeply pitched pantile roofs, black glazed on the front elevation. The building has an L-shaped plan with a two-storey rear wing and a 2.5-storey front.
The east facade is symmetrical with three bays, featuring sash windows with glazing bars and cambered heads, and skewback arches over the openings. The central doorway has an eared architrave and a flush-panelled reveal, with a door that has raised and fielded panels, the bottom section being one large panel. There is a rectangular fanlight above the door, and a later canopy supported by brackets. The eaves have a sawtooth brick course, and there are three 20th-century gabled dormers.
The north and south gables are shaped and pedimented, with window openings at each level; the ground floor opening on the south gable extends to floor level. The lower rear wing features 20th-century fenestration, and the rear gable has continuous tumbling-in with an internal chimney stack. The eaves are adorned with brick dentils, and the south wall and return are rendered and colourwashed. There are two chimney stacks on the rear wall of the taller range.
